I'm almost caught up with Person of Interest - I think we have five episodes left? It has been an intense run.
Things that have surprised me:
- Falling for Root/Shaw meant falling off the sofa and writhing around because my body cannot contain my love. I knew I'd fall for them but not like this. It's very undignified. Very much like my Helena/Myka feels.
- Reese is super droll in later seasons. I did not think it was possible for him to unwind. I kind of love the way he's modelling chill behaviour for Shaw. "This is how we don't kill everyone."
- Fusco is amazing! He's the hero every time! He has changed so much since S1, and has that kind of basic, easy decency that I find really appealing.
- I miss Shaw. I know she had to go and have babies, but I hope she's back soon.
I am worried about what I will do when we're out of episodes. Quite worried.
Blurg, I have a cold, and I feel like I have a hairball at the back of my throat. I am displeased. I have been consuming copious amounts of tea with lemon. I bought lemons specifically, which makes me wonder how the lemon tree we planted at the old house is going. (We moved last September, for the new people.) It should be getting fruit, and so should the lime tree - ah, well.

I never posted photos of the garden beds - here's one from before the mini-greenhouse was finished. (You can see the metal frame around one bed where the laserlite panels are going to go.) The photo is taken from under the oak tree in the back garden, looking down at the new house.

[Shadowed view of three raised garden beds. Two are full of leafy plants (which are zucchinis and tomatoes and basil) and one is mostly bare. (That's the greenhouse)]
This is what became of my dream of paving around the oak tree and a wooden seat. Shane the landscaper said that paving would become too higgledy-piggledy with the roots disturbing the stones, so he built a deck. IT IS AWESOME. It's cool and dark, even in the middle of summer, and there's still a weak signal from the house wi-fi. At the moment, there's a colony of yellow and black lady beetles there, and I have to periodically sweep it of oak leaves and possum or koala poo, but it's going to be an amazing place to sit and read next summer.

[Low wooden deck with wooden seats encircling the trunk of an oak tree. There's a garden shed in the background, and lots of dappled sunlight.]
Since I'm posting photos, this was my day today: rain and cows. So much rain. So many cows.

[A herd of black and white Friesian cows on the road, photo taken through the windscreen of a car.]

[Two Friesian cows walking beside a car, photo taken from the passenger window. There are big rainclouds in the distance.]

Otherwise, we are both well, apart from sore throats and woolly heads. Hello again to the new people - I'm very glad to be getting to know you.
