I'm almost caught up with Person of Interest - I think we have five episodes left? It has been an intense run.
Things that have surprised me:
- Falling for Root/Shaw meant falling off the sofa and writhing around because my body cannot contain my love. I knew I'd fall for them but not like this. It's very undignified. Very much like my Helena/Myka feels.
- Reese is super droll in later seasons. I did not think it was possible for him to unwind. I kind of love the way he's modelling chill behaviour for Shaw. "This is how we don't kill everyone."
- Fusco is amazing! He's the hero every time! He has changed so much since S1, and has that kind of basic, easy decency that I find really appealing.
- I miss Shaw. I know she had to go and have babies, but I hope she's back soon.
I am worried about what I will do when we're out of episodes. Quite worried.
Blurg, I have a cold, and I feel like I have a hairball at the back of my throat. I am displeased. I have been consuming copious amounts of tea with lemon. I bought lemons specifically, which makes me wonder how the lemon tree we planted at the old house is going. (We moved last September, for the new people.) It should be getting fruit, and so should the lime tree - ah, well.

I never posted photos of the garden beds - here's one from before the mini-greenhouse was finished. (You can see the metal frame around one bed where the laserlite panels are going to go.) The photo is taken from under the oak tree in the back garden, looking down at the new house.

[Shadowed view of three raised garden beds. Two are full of leafy plants (which are zucchinis and tomatoes and basil) and one is mostly bare. (That's the greenhouse)]
This is what became of my dream of paving around the oak tree and a wooden seat. Shane the landscaper said that paving would become too higgledy-piggledy with the roots disturbing the stones, so he built a deck. IT IS AWESOME. It's cool and dark, even in the middle of summer, and there's still a weak signal from the house wi-fi. At the moment, there's a colony of yellow and black lady beetles there, and I have to periodically sweep it of oak leaves and possum or koala poo, but it's going to be an amazing place to sit and read next summer.

[Low wooden deck with wooden seats encircling the trunk of an oak tree. There's a garden shed in the background, and lots of dappled sunlight.]
Since I'm posting photos, this was my day today: rain and cows. So much rain. So many cows.

[A herd of black and white Friesian cows on the road, photo taken through the windscreen of a car.]

[Two Friesian cows walking beside a car, photo taken from the passenger window. There are big rainclouds in the distance.]

Otherwise, we are both well, apart from sore throats and woolly heads. Hello again to the new people - I'm very glad to be getting to know you.

Date: 2015-06-02 01:19 pm (UTC)To (lengthily) answer your hypothetical, here is a list of the various bus lines that travel between the two cities. Depending on the size of your Evil Organization, they may not have the people to monitor all of the pickup locations; alternatively Our Heroes could easily rent a car from a plethora of options. They would have to pay with credit card, however. If they have time for planning, colleges often have carpool boards (either real or virtual) advertising for drivers and riders. That would be (relatively) discreet and (mostly) untraceable, especially if you pay with cash and/or look like college students.

Date: 2015-06-03 10:54 am (UTC)I really like your idea about carpooling with students. That would make for some interesting travelling conversations.
Thank you - if I have questions, can I message you?

Date: 2015-06-02 01:26 pm (UTC)I can answer American questions if you want. Although, uh, I live on the West Coast. I don't actually know about the bus thing. Like, you could do it without going to an airport or train station, and probably without going through a major bus terminal, but I don't know if you could pay cash and not have to show ID.

Date: 2015-06-02 02:02 pm (UTC)I see you already have an answer about your transportation question. (The college carpool thing is an option I hadn't thought of.) Good point about planning and lead time, though; if that's an issue, there's always the "Steal a car" option?

Date: 2015-06-03 11:28 am (UTC)Captain America doesn't steal cars! Okay, he borrows them. I think Sam would be a bit more wary of boosting a ride, maybe, but it's definitely an option.

Date: 2015-06-03 01:38 pm (UTC)Unless it's a "there's no one they can trust" situation, perhaps the car could be rented by a non-family member they know?

Date: 2015-06-02 02:18 pm (UTC)However, I'm not sure how you could be sure they were monitoring the trains yet sure they *weren't* monitoring the buses. But those big city stations get pretty chaotic so I'm sure a superspy could handle it.
Happy to help if I can! Us marvel_bangers have to stick together. Just having an unscheduled plot freak out over here, myself.

I've been almost caught up on Person of Interest for a couple weeks now, and yet somehow haven't seen the last two episodes of the season yet. Not for lack of wanting to!

Date: 2015-06-04 11:14 am (UTC)The tree seat is so great! It's a gorgeous tree - especially out here where we don't have those big, epic deciduous trees of the northern hemisphere. I am glad that we could make a feature of it.
POI has been lots of fun! But yeah, there's so much TV and so little time. Have you seen the first ep of Stitchers? Was it good? (Was it handheld?)
no subject
Date: 2015-06-04 10:47 pm (UTC)And yep, I saw the Stitchers premiere while it was streaming early online. "Handheld" meaning the way it was shot? I'm not sure. There was definitely some oddness to the footage, but I'm not good at IDing causes/how different effects were done. I mostly found myself wondering if the style was meant to connect to how the main character processes things, or if it was just some bizarre artistic choice.
It was...very much a pilot.

Date: 2015-06-05 03:02 am (UTC)Handheld meaning is the image shaky?
Pilots are piloty - maybe it will pick up? *fingers crossed*

Date: 2015-06-06 04:36 am (UTC)I can see how it would be! Blah. :/
Hmm...it's been long enough now since I saw the episode (a week or so?) that I don't want to swear to whether it's shaky or not. There was definitely something about it that threw me, but I vaguely feel like if it were shakiness (or only shakiness) I wouldn't have been so puzzled by it? I will say proceed with caution.

Good luck with your fic!

Date: 2015-06-05 04:27 am (UTC)The deck started with an awesome, awesome tree. I love oak trees, even though I shouldn't because they're an introduced species here. They're just so epic and lovely.

Person of Interest! \o/ We're probably at a similar part of the season: I fell out of serious TV watching just after If-Then-Else. ♥Root/Shaw♥
